Time is brain

An award-winning VR simulation that educates users on the urgency of stroke intervention. By combining clinical accuracy with gamification, the project guides players through a high-stakes thrombectomy case. Recognized with the Gold Aspid Award, it stands as a benchmark for using immersive tech to improve medical decision-making and patient outcomes.

I designed a gamified virtual reality experience that immerses the player in a stroke case, featuring a race against time to transport the patient for a thrombectomy. The primary goal of this project is to highlight the importance of rapid intervention in stroke treatment, combining a clear message with scientifically backed content.

The experience allows users to explore the case from multiple perspectives, transforming a complex medical topic into an interactive and educational narrative. Gamification motivates players to make crucial decisions, creating an emotional connection and fostering memorable learning about the fundamental role of time.

This project has been recognized at the Aspid Awards, receiving the Gold Aspid in the ‘E-health’ category, along with two other awards for ‘Best Virtual or Augmented Reality’ and ‘Best Gamification in Health.’ These accolades validate the success of the experience in merging immersive technology with medical education.
